BEHR® Bonding Primer No. 432
BEHR Interior/Exterior Bonding Primer is specifically formulated to bond to a variety of ‘tough-to-paint’ surfaces. Its advanced chemistry provides a sound anchor for topcoats while reducing or potentially eliminating the need for sanding dense and glossy surfaces. This product may be used under epoxies, lacquers, products containing xylene or other hot solvents, provided it’s allowed to dry for 24 hours before top coating and tested for compatibility in an inconspicuous area before full coat application.

- Over properly prepared uncoated and previously painted Interior/Exterior ferrous and non-ferrous metal surfaces.
- Ideal for ferrous metal surfaces, such as: Steel, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Cast Iron, Wrought Iron, Galvanized Steel; and non-ferrous metal surfaces, such as: Brass, Aluminum, Copper, Lead, Nickel, Tin, Titanium, Zinc and Metal Alloys.
- Bright or deep topcoat colours require primer to be tinted (add no more than 4 fluid ounces of colourant per gallon).
Preparation
- All surfaces must be properly prepared, cleaned and primed on the same day.
- Remove all loose or peeling paint; wash off chalk, dirt and grease with mild detergent, rinse well and allow to dry.
- Remove mildew stains with a mildew stain-removing product.
- Scuff sand glossy surfaces and repair imperfections.
- Remove all loose dust and rust particles with a wire brush and dry cloth. In some cases, scraping or sanding may be needed to allow the primer to adhere.
- Do not use if surface is structurally unsound or severely deteriorated.

Application
- Apply when air and surface temperatures are between 4-32°C.
- Use a high quality 6-10mm nap roller cover, nylon/polyester brush or an airless sprayer (.011"-.017" spray tip, 60 mesh filter) Stir primer occasionally.

- Do not thin if using a roller or brush; however, if using a sprayer and thinning is necessary to maintain workability, thin with clean water at a rate of no more than 237 mL pint per 3.78L.

For one year from the date of purchase, Behr Process LLC warrants to the original consumer purchaser, (1) that the product meets Behr Process LLC’s manufacturing specifications, and (2) the performance of this product when applied according to the label instructions and specifications. If this product is found not to perform as specified on the label within one year from the date of purchase, Behr Process LLC will, at its option and upon presentation of proof-of-purchase (the original receipt), either furnish an equivalent amount of new product or refund the original purchase price of this product to you.
