How to Paint Furniture with BEHR® Chalk Decorative Paint

Sanding Block

Step 1Grab your tools.

Step 2Using a screwdriver, remove all hardware and drawers.

Step 3Wipe the furniture to remove any dust.

Step 4Prep the surface by gently sanding using a sanding block. Wipe off any excess dust.

Step 5Lay the dresser drawers flat over a drop cloth.

Step 6Using a BEHR® Chalk Decorative Paint Brush and BEHR® Chalk Decorative Paint, apply smooth even strokes to the dresser drawer in the direction of the grain.

Step 7Make sure to get into all the nooks and crannies.
TIP: For more control while you're painting, try holding the brush by the ferrule.

Step 8Allow 2 hours for the BEHR® Chalk Decorative Paint to fully dry.

Step 9Using a BEHR® Chalk Decorative Wax Brush, apply BEHR® Wax Decorative Finish. Note that a little goes a long way.

Step 10Allow wax to dry before buffing to desired sheen.

Step 11Wash your tools with warm soapy water.

Step 12Take this opportunity to replace your hardware.
