How to Sand a Deck
There are a couple of different ways to sand your deck. In this video, you will learn how to properly sand your deck prior to beginning a staining project.
For Best Results:
Take your time sanding to achieve an even surface and remove any previous top coating. This will help the stain adhere to the surface.

Sanding Block or Electric Sander

Broom

Step 1Grab your tools.

Step 2Use a broom to sweep off the deck and remove any dust, dirt or leaves.

Step 3Working from one end of your deck to the other, sand each board in the direction of the grain until you achieve a smooth finish.
