Suggested Tools & Supplies
  • Sandpaper

  • Screwdriver

  • BEHR PREMIUM™ Spray Paint in Black and Amazon Moss

  • BEHR PREMIUM™ Metallic Spray Paint in Gold

  • Cloth

  • Step 1

    Grab your tools.

  • Step 2

To ensure a smooth finish and adhesion, prep your furniture by giving the surface a light sand if needed and wipe away any dirt, dust, or grime.

  • Step 3

Shake your can of spray paint vigorously for 1 minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle.

  • Step 4

Holding the can about 30 cm away from the surface, apply the spray paint in light and even coats, moving from side to side. 2-3 thin coats produce the best results.

  • Step 5

To easily modernize your furniture piece even further, spray any dated hardware like knobs or handles with spray paint for a fresh new look. Once dry, reattach them to the drawers.

  • Step 6

You can also use spray paint to transform accessories and décor. Use painter’s tape to create designs on items like baskets and art canvases, and then apply spray paint in the colour of your choice.

  • Step 7

Once everything is dry, style your new spray-painted pieces with plants, books, and other décor items.
